OpenAI has recently quietly discontinued its AI content detection tool. The tool was initially launched with the rise in AI content as a result of ChatGPT, a chatbot built by OpenAI. When the industry felt the need for people to check if the content was being generated by an AI bot or not, the internet was filled with AI detection tools.
These tools were supposed to keep things transparent and show everyone if the content or text generated is from AI or not. However, many failed to do so, as detecting AI content is hard, especially when it comes from the likes of ChatGPT. Even though we’re still not getting any better at it, I’ve found some tools that I’ve been using for a while.
Post Contents:
Copyleaks:
Out of all the AI detection tools that I’ve tried, Copyleaks proved itself to be one of the best. Although it’s not a perfect tool for AI content detection and doesn’t detect generated text most of the time, Copyleaks was able to get the AI content.
One thing that I must pen down here is that during my experiments with AI content, I was able to fool Copyleaks with some of the prompts that I’ve created. These prompts were able to generate content out of ChatGPT or Jasper AI that couldn’t be detected by any of these listed AI content detection tools.
Another thing one must note is that Copyleaks often labels human-written content as AI-generated. It’s a problem that I found often while playing with it.
Originality AI tool:
I’m not a fan of Originality AI but it works often. I must say that it isn’t as good as Copyleaks but it has done the job for me. Originality works with credits and since my free demo account couldn’t work well for me, I didn’t go for a premium plan.
This AI detection too needs more work but it’s useful if you want to track your writers’ writing within Google Docs. This tool offers a Chrome extension that tells you if the writer is using an AI tool or is copying from somewhere else. Pretty neat tool to have if you run a content writing agency.
Writer.com:
Writer.com also works well but doesn’t take more than 1500 words at a time. As compared to other tools mentioned on this list, this tool is not good as far as I’m concerned. it rarely detects AI content and most often passes the content as it is.
