Acer has launched its first Chromebook Plus laptops, the Acer Chromebook Plus 515 and Acer Chromebook Plus 514, as part of Google’s Chromebook Plus initiative. The new models are designed to enhance productivity, creativity, and multimedia capabilities, offering upgraded displays and cameras.
Design and display
The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 features a large 15.6-inch Full HD display (1920×1080) and is powered by the 13th Gen and 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors with hybrid technology. This allows for greater efficiency and performance across productivity, creative, and multimedia workloads.
On the other hand, the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 packs an AMD Ryzen™ 5 7520-C processor and boasts a 14-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) display. This combination offers ultimate performance in a compact form factor, making it ideal for next-level collaboration and on-the-go productivity.
Durability
Both models conform to MIL-STD 810H durability standards and feature a stylish and premium design. They also come with a range of usability features such as a 1080p webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction, high-resolution IPS displays, and built-in AI-powered tools for optimum video conferencing and consumption experiences.
James Lin, General Manager of Notebooks at Acer Inc., said that the new Acer Chromebook Plus laptops help customers do more of what they love. He added that Acer Chromebooks have been trailblazers since the market’s inception – and now they’re excited to deliver a new tier of devices possessing the quality, performance, and features that customers value most.
Built-in editing capabilities also enable quicker and easier photo and video enhancements. For example, the AI-powered Magic Eraser feature in the built-in Google Photos app easily removes unwanted distractions, while a few easy clicks of the movie creation tools provide advanced video edits. Among other things, Adobe Express premium is also free for a few months along with Adobe’s latest and greatest generative AI, Firefly.
The new Acer Chromebook Plus laptops have the memory and storage users need to do and create more. Each has between 8 GB to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, combined with responsive SSD local storage options of up to 256 GB for the 14-inch Acer Chromebook Plus.

The Acer Chromebook Plus 515 (CB515-2H/T) will be available in North America in October, starting at USD 399.99, in EMEA in October, starting at EUR 499, and in UK retail stores in October from £399.99.
On the other hand, the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 (CB514-3H/T) will be available in North America in October, starting at USD 399.99, in EMEA in October, starting at EUR 479, and in UK retail stores in October from £499.99.
