As reported by a well-acclaimed analyst, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg and Zoe Schiffer of NBC News, Apple has decided to delay the return of employees to the offices, however, the return date is “yet to determine.” The announcement was made in an internal email to employees by Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. The email also states that the company will be giving $1,000 to all employees, including retail and corporate ones. This bonus is for the “work-from-home needs” of the employees.
The decision came in after the rise in the omicron variant of covid-19. The variant spreads faster than the previous variants as reported by WHO. Hence, companies are making sure that their employees remain safe. Previously the return to offices was set to February 2022, which was already delayed from November 2021, however, the recent development in the covid-19 situation has forced them to change the decision again.
