HMD Global announces Nokia XR20, a rugged smartphone that is MIL-STD-810H compliant. The phone is just like Nokia X20, which the company has launched earlier; however, the rugged edition comes with some new features. XR20 is IP68 certified, which means that it is dust and water-resistant. The phone also uses Gorilla Glass Vicitus and works with gloves and wet fingers as well. In addition, the strong casing of the phone enables it to survive a drop of 1.8 meters.

Other than these specs, most of the specs in the phone are the same as Nokia X20. It has a 6.67-inch FHD LCD with Gorilla Glass Victus. It also comes with 5G support and is powered by Snapdragon 480 chipset. It runs Android 11 right now, but Nokia promises to deliver 3 years of OS updates and up to 4 years of monthly security updates for the XR20 smartphone.

Speaking of the camera, Nokia XR20 has two rear cameras, a 48MP main camera, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The regular X20 has a four-camera setup; however, there’s no depth sensor and macro lens in the new XR20 phone. It uses two LED flashlights with each rear camera sensor for better and brighter photos in the dark. An 8MP camera is on the front for selfies. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner in the phone, just like the regular Nokia X20.
